In an effort to enhance the health outcomes of high-risk patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), UC Davis Health and Propeller Health have established a new partnership.
In accordance with the partnership, UC Davis Health will offer the Propeller program to qualified patients, which includes sensors, a mobile app, a web portal, and individualized support. In the future, this service will be extended to patients in additional UC locations and UC affiliates. The sensors are attached to the patient’s inhaler and collect distinctive signals that document activities like taking medication or breathing.
The Epic® electronic health record (EHR) system at UC Davis Health will receive this data directly in order to allow patient enrollment and remote patient monitoring via single sign-on.
UC Davis Health and Propeller Health have formed a new cooperation in an effort to improve the health outcomes of high-risk patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
According to the agreement, UC Davis Health will provide the Propeller program, which includes sensors, a mobile app, a web portal, and tailored support, to eligible patients. This service will eventually be made available to patients at other UC sites and UC affiliates. The sensors are fastened to the patient’s inhaler and gather unique signals to track actions like breathing or taking medication. To enable patient enrollment and remote patient monitoring via single sign-on, this data will be directly transferred to the Epic® electronic health record (EHR) system at UC Davis Health.
A program like this might help a lot of individuals in our community and enhance their clinical outcomes, Kuhn continued. “I appreciate the effort put in by the UC Davis information technology team in integrating the Propeller platform with our EHR system so that we can quickly simplify workflows and provide real-time data, alerts, and messaging to our physicians,” said the team member.
